The Project Executive is a unique role within the Austin organization. A Project Executive is someone who represents deep, often extern industry recognized, experience, skill and reputation related to a specific market, project type or area of focus. This deep and long-term experience provides unique market positioning or unique capability offerings to the company. The position of Project Executive will have duties assigned to the specific person filling the role. A Project Executive may fill a sales role, a relationship management role, a senior level process expert role, or a Project Manager role.
- Normally requires a four-year degree in Construction Management and typically 15 years of Design and Building Construction and/or construction experience
- Extensive building construction experience complimenting a non-engineering or architectural training is also appropriate
- Extensive knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques
- Knowledge of various design & construction means, methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances
- Demonstrates sales, management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Frequently Work in a loud environment
- Frequently Work outdoors in high and low temperatures
- Occasionally May work in high and/or precarious places
- Occasionally Work indoors
- Must be able to work around an be in close proximity to heavy machinery
- Occasionally Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop and or kneel
- Must be able to drive
- Must be able to travel to and work at the project site, this travel may be up to 75%

- To provide project oversight ensuring that the Project Team performs the contracted work while upholding the company values
- To work with the Director of Project Planning and provide input on proposals to ensure that Austin’s proposed approach, team and budget will meet the Client’s objectives
- To work with the Project Manager, for an assigned project to ensure the Project Team meets Austin’s contractual commitments, follows Austin’s established policies and procedures, and that the team is properly coordinated throughout the design and construction process
- To ensure there are effective and productive relationships with the Client and Austin’s Project Team
- To ensure that projects are executed in conformance with all contract documents and achieve expected financial results
- To assure that the Project Team establishes and maintains the Company’s Quality Control Program throughout the design and construction of the project
- To keep management informed as to the progress of the project, it’s financial and cash positions, and status of current Client relations
- To adhere to and positively support the company’s safety policy as set forth in the company’s Safety Manual
- Assists / Supports or may lead sales efforts on key projects - scopes out the work, meets with prospects, proposes staffing plan, proposes budget and schedule for management review
- Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of The Company or as directed by the General Manager
- To hold the Project Manager accountable for the Construction Control Schedule process and to ensure that it is established and maintained, that there is buy in from the Project Team, that the CCS incorporates dates and times for owner decisions, availability of design information, procurement of materials and subcontracts, lead times for fabrication and field installation
- To hold the Project Manager accountable for conducting Project Performance Reviews on the staff assigned to their projects at appropriate stages of the work
