Austin Companies is one of the largest residential construction companies in the State of Arizona. We are currently recruiting an Estimator to come join our family orientated culture. The candidate will be responsible for bidding and preparing estimate proposals for our electric division.
Candidate must have 5 years of construction estimating experience. Must have experience with preparing bids, reviewing plans, and submitting estimate proposals to our customers. Candidate must be well-organized with great attention to detail.
Job Duties:
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Analyze project requirements and develop detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Utilize construction estimating software to create accurate estimates.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings during the estimating process.
- Present estimates to clients and participate in negotiations to secure contracts.
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide cost control recommendations.
- Knowledge of project budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customer purchasing teams.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain a library of project job cost for use in future project estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience
- Knowledge of construction estimating concepts, practices, and maintenance
Key Competencies:
- Strong Knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Proficiency in project management techniques and tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
