General Foreman (Corpus Christi, TX)

The General Foreman supervises a crew of pipe and mechanical. Responsible for coordinating and training. Consulting with clients and contractors, assigns tasks, making sure jobs are done on time, and monitoring performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversees and manages trades (Pipe and mechanical); Coordinates safety inspections
2. Responsible for ensuring that individuals who work under him/her, carry out their tasks and duties diligently and effectively for successful completion
3. He/she ensures that all equipment and facilities needed by workers to enable them work effectively are made available and are in good condition.
4. A foreman ensures that workers maintain a high level of quality of the work.
5. The foreman is expected to have experience/knowledge in quite a number of areas and showcases his/her experience/knowledge in the execution of these tasks.
6. Organizes meetings such as safety talks, daily meetings, etc.
7. Read and interpret Blueprints and understand job specification
8. Provide employee feedback and/or consequences for safe/unsafe behavior
9. Instruct journeyman in specific crafts tasks including safety procedures and techniques
10. Understand work priorities and schedules and assign work plans.

• Must be able read blueprints, schedule look aheads
• Must be able to work at great heights without fear.
• Must be able to work in heat and cold weather.
• The noise level in the work environment and job sites is usually loud.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven ability to build and lead high performing teams
• 5 years of relevant experience within commercial construction
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Must be able to work in hot or cold environment
• Quality control experience
• Strong Mechanical Background required
• Scheduling experience
