Austin Humane Society Education Manager Position
The Education Manager is responsible for the execution of current education activities such as our Summer Kids Series, Rescue Readers, school programing and expanding the outreach and funding of the education program at Austin Humane Society (AHS). It is an exciting time to be at AHS as this is an opportunity to play an integral role in designing the future of animal welfare education through AHS into the Greater Austin community. The Education Manager reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and works with a variety of individuals; donors, event guests, volunteers, staff and other constituents to ensure everyone who encounters Austin Humane Society has an excellent experience.
Essential Functions :
Education and Education Outreach (60%)
- Own and manage the Rescue Readers program on site, birthday parties and Scout Troup request.
- Be the representative of AHS within the school systems and manage the school outreach and education program within the Greater Austin community.
- Establish, update, and maintain accurate data records of all events, all related constituents and donations.
Assist with the development of new ideas and strategies to increase growth with community partners, donors and volunteers in order to help foster AHS engagement within the animal welfare education space.
