MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. One or more of the
following credentials is strongly preferred: valid general or Special Education certification, Licensed Dyslexia Therapist (LDT),
Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), Educational Diagnostician, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, or
Master’s degree in curriculum, Special Education, school psychology, administration, educational leadership, or related
program areas from an accredited college or university. A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience
providing instruction to students with dyslexia is required. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires knowledge of services under Special Education, Section 504, and Texas Education Code (TEC) §38.003,
Dyslexia and Related Disorders. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of scientifically based instructional programs and
strategies designed to address the academic needs of students identified with dyslexia. Incumbent must have ability to
monitor campus compliance with District processes and procedures related to the implementation of dyslexia services and
requirements, be skilled in the management of program services and support systems for effective implementation, provide
effective professional development to campus staff, and have the ability to address the diverse needs of students, parents,
and school personnel. The incumbent must be able to read, write, and effectively speak/communicate in English to receive
and provide work-related information in a timely manner to other employees, supervisors, principals, school personnel,
volunteers, and, where appropriate, visitors and students.
JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
Incumbent will be responsible for managing curricular resources and materials, providing technical and professional learning
support, and providing instructional assistance to teachers and campus administrators related to dyslexia screening,
evaluation, identification, and intervention. Incumbent will monitor the provision of instruction, accommodations, and
interventions for students with dyslexia per TEC §38.003. Incumbent will monitor and participate in program evaluation of
dyslexia services. Incumbent is responsible for supporting PK-12 on all school campuses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work collaboratively with campuses to ensure intervention and instructional needs of students identified with dyslexia
- Inventory, organize, and distribute District resources.
- Assist campuses in the documentation of dyslexia intervention and progress monitoring.
- Review program implementation impact on student progress and achievement.
- Develop, schedule, and provide professional development in the areas of evidence-based intervention and dyslexia.
- Provide training and consultation to campus staff regarding best practices in screening, identification, instruction, and

- Collaborate and participate with members from other teams across the District.
- Assist in District level initiatives and program development relative to Special Education, Section 504, or dyslexia.
