The Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting students and enhancing their educational experience. This position involves coordinating services, providing guidance, and fostering an environment conducive to academic success. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring students through their educational journey.

Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students, addressing inquiries and providing information about available services.
  • Educate students on academic policies, procedures, and resources to facilitate their success.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support students in their academic pursuits.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts by engaging with prospective students and guiding them through the enrollment process.
  • Utilize Ellucian software to manage student records and track service utilization effectively.
  • Mentor students by providing academic advising and support tailored to their individual needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and informational sessions aimed at enhancing student engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support services.
  • Direct and manage the Austin Medical Assistant Training career services as it assists all student, alumni, faculty, and employer clients in the development of career education, career identification and search, and pursuit of employment opportunities commensurate with formal academic pursuits.

· Serve as the primary liaison between the school, its students and alumni, and potential employers on a state, regional, national, and international scale.

· Responsible for fiscal planning and management for career services, including all operations and staffing matters.

· Serve as adviser and interfaces with representatives of industrial, governmental, and educational employers to assist in the most effective use of career services' efforts.

· Develop new contacts with external organizations for the purpose of expanding employment opportunities for students and alumni.

· Review and supervises the school recruitment and interviewing processes as well as resume referral and job-listing services for current students as well as alumni. Coordinates and supervises staff professional development activities and training, to include travel for professional development workshops, seminars, and conferences.

· Closely coordinates communication with all departments to ensure that the career services are meeting the needs and desires of the students and employer demands.

· Constantly monitor, analyze, and evaluate current scope of services offered through career services and plans, implements, and directs new programs under the supervision of the executive management team.

· Provide career advising expertise to students and alumni regarding the job-search process, interviewing, resume, and letter writing, and all other facets of career planning.

· Conducts workshops, seminars, and other presentations to students, faculty, employers, and alumni groups as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in education administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse student populations.
  • Proficiency in using Ellucian or similar student management systems is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with students in an academic advising or mentoring capacity is beneficial.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate action plans.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports the growth of all students.
