Like an air traffic controller, the Dispatchers at Austin Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electric orchestrate some of the most critical parts of the customer experience. They manage the daily movement of our two most valuable assets—our tradespeople and our customers—ensuring the right technician is paired with the right job at the right time.
The role of a dispatcher is a fast-paced balancing act, requiring quick thinking, adaptability, and precision. You’ll be the glue that holds our service interactions together, ensuring a seamless experience for both our team and our clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a dispatcher, you’ll own the daily schedule for our plumbing, HVAC, and electrical technicians, adapting to the ever-changing nature of the service industry. Your job is to maximize efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction by making data-driven decisions throughout the day.
Here’s what that looks like:
- Dispatch Ownership – You own the day. Every call under dispatch is your responsibility.
- Right Tech, Right Job, Right Time – Use skill and data to match technicians with jobs for maximum efficiency.
- Problem Solving on the Fly – Handle the unpredictable changes that arise daily, from emergencies to scheduling shifts.
- Client Communication – Keep customers updated on service times, delays, and technician arrival.
- Maximize Production – Manage technician availability, job durations, and overall schedule flow.
- Advance Unresolved Tasks – Ensure any outstanding customer needs are addressed and closed.
- Material & Invoice Checks – Confirm necessary materials are ready and accounted for in restocks and invoices.
