Red Diamond PETN Plant Maintenance-
Austin powder company is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to maintain equipment within our Chemical processing and Explosives Manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate must be driven by safety and results, willing to work overtime as required to finish critical safety and operations maintenance tasks. Interact with other Maintenance, Engineering and Operations staff to understand problems and perform repairs.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance
- Detailed assembly and repair of specialized equipment
- Pipe fitting and inspection
- Pump Mounting and Alignment
- Pump Repair
- Must be prepared to work around strong acids (nitric acid, sulfuric acid), flammables(acetone), and explosive materials using proper PPE and procedures.
- Operate heavy equipment ie. Boom lift, Man lift.
- Work from elevated heights utilizing safety harness and other equipment.
- Light Fabrication
- Maintain equipment records by completing work order documentation in a timely manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years old or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work overtime with little to no notice.
- Ability to work from elevated heights wearing safety harness
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Will be subjected to extended periods of climbing ladders and stairways, sitting, kneeling, walking, standing, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving and lifting up to 55 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Associate's degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance and/or Engineering Technology programs or trade programs
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as Boom Lift, Man Lift, Scissor lift
- Experience with a Computerized maintenance management system
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment in mechanical, pneumatic, controls systems.
- Experience with air-operated diaphragm, centrifugal, positive displacement, and other pumps
- Experience with pneumatic controlled systems
- Experience with manufacturing process components (i.e. flow, temperature, pressure, analytical sensors.)
- Familiarity with pipefitting, rigging, rotating/stationary equipment repair, metal fabrication, insulating, and reading prints/diagrams a plus

- Follow all Explosives Maintenance Practices (Basis of Safety)
- Follow all common employee safety practices
- Must understand MSDS sheets and the safe use of chemicals
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
