SUMMARY
The Quality Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the work of all Quality Control Technicians to ensure that products are manufactured and packaged per documented Standard Operating Procedures that are designed to support the development, implementation, and control of the ISO 22716:2007 standard. This position is responsible for being the subject matter expert in all things related to the testing and evaluation of microorganisms in the manufacturing facility. The Quality Control Supervisor acts as the back up the Associate Director of Quality on the Quality Control side of the business and is responsible in the Director of Quality absence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, based on business needs.
Responsible for managing the successful completion of daily activities in the Quality Control and Micro labs.
Responsible for training QC personnel in SOP’s related to Quality Control responsibilities.
Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies for the QC lab.
Reviews documentation generated by Quality personnel in the QC and Micro laboratories for accuracy and completeness.
Oversees the plating of bulk and finished product samples. After incubation, evaluate plates for microbial growth results.
Responsible for final review of batch card and product approval / release of Bulk material.
Responsible for final review of production orders and approval / release of Finished Products.
Creates and maintains data spreadsheets for multiple QC elements including, but not limited to, specifications, micro result trends, environmental monitoring results and trends and other Quality KPI (key productivity Indicator) data using existing spreadsheets, as requested.
Presents results of Environmental Monitoring and other Quality related data in a monthly Manufacturing Management meeting.
Recommends improvements to Quality Systems based on experience and knowledge.
Oversees the approval of all incoming labels/films/tube artwork/shrinks to ensure that incoming artwork components meet current revisions.
Performs and documents GMP, Safety and Sanitation findings noticed during weekly, quarterly, and annual walk throughs of the Manufacturing and Warehouse areas.
Reviews and confirms that the regulatory ILC statement on all incoming artwork components is correct.
Must be experienced in performing all the job functions of the QC Technicians in order to be back up when Technicians are away due to illness or vacation.
May assist with other Quality related projects, as directed by the Quality Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises all Quality Technicians and will be responsible for the Quality department in the absence of the Director of Quality.
The QC Supervisor is responsible for dealing with all employee relations issues of QC Technicians with the assistance of Human Resources and the Director of Quality.
The QC Supervisor will be responsible for administering annual reviews to direct report employees, under the supervision of the Director of Quality.
