Our ice cream has garnered a loyal following at farmers markets, festivals, and private events with our truck and cart services. As we expand operations, we're thrilled to open our first brick-and-mortar ice cream and coffee shop in Ashburn!
The Role
We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Baker / Pastry Chef to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing baked inclusions such as gooey butter cake, brownies, cookies, pie crusts, and other house-made creations that are folded into our small-batch ice cream. Your work will directly shape the flavor and quality of every scoop we serve.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves baking but prefers a flexible, part-time schedule. Whether you're an experienced baker or a culinary student with strong foundational skills, we’d love to meet you!
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods (brownies, butter cakes, cookies, crusts, and more) for use as inclusions in our ice cream.
- Follow and maintain consistency with our recipes and preparation standards.
- Maintain an organized and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Ensure all baked goods are prepared to the highest quality, including proper cooling, cutting, and storage.
- Communicate inventory needs for baking ingredients and supplies.
- Support occasional shop baking needs beyond inclusions (e.g., pastries, cookies for in-shop sales).
Qualifications
- Previous baking or pastry experience in a commercial or professional kitchen setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality baked goods.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety, food handling, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while managing time efficiently.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Reliable and punctual — consistency is key in production!
- Flexible schedule availability for part-time weekday shifts.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
