What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Dance Instructor position at AutismUp?
Position Summary
This role requires a creative and knowledgeable instructor capable of teaching various styles of movement/ dance and yoga, helping participants improve both physical fitness and mental well-being. The instructor will be responsible for creating and leading classes that are engaging, inclusive, and focused on enhancing the mind-body connection for participants with autism and other disabilities to help them achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
· Directly provides and facilitates instruction and oversight to participants with various abilities in a classroom or/and community-based setting, and virtually as needed
- Assists with the management of volunteers, interns, community partners, instructors, and support staff
- Assists in ensuring supplies and equipment are adequate and up-to-date
- Tracks participants’ progress and communicates accordingly with stakeholders including families
- Responsible for the supervision and safety of program participants
- Helps facilitate social interactions between participants in the program
- Participates on the programming team’s behalf at AU events and functions, as needed
- Co-manages reporting as needed and assigned, including notes, metrics, incident reports and notables
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required, Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Proven experience teaching movement/dance and yoga in a group or individual setting.
- Passionate about fitness, wellness, and helping others achieve their personal health goals.
- Experience working with individuals with ASD or other disabilities
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
