What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Painter position at Auto Body and Collision Center?
Job Overview
- Prepare and apply paint to repaired vehicles
- Apply refinish coatings, using only approved, provided spray equipment set at recommended pressure.
- Inspect panels to be painted for proper body repair, prepping and/or masking and notify Production Manager when imperfections are found before applying any refinish coatings.
- Duties may include final sanding, masking, color mixing and tinting, spray booth operations, applying primers, sealers, color, and clear coats.
- Assure all refinish products are properly formulated to meet color match and finish texture expectations, utilizing all tools and techniques provided by paint suppliers technical support system.
- Utilize the scale to mix only the amount of refinish products required to cover repair/refinish area and limit waste using paint supplies mix-management system.
- Assure paint areas (i.e. booth, prep station, etc.) and paint mix rooms are clean, and all refinish products are stored as directed.
- Clean and maintain all paint formulation and spray application equipment (i.e. paint guns, mixing systems, computer equipment, etc.) in proper working order.
- Update all paint supplier color, technical data and software material.
- Print VOC’s monthly and submit to the Office Manager.
- Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
- Works with potentially hazardous materials so attention to safety and personal protection are essential.
- Train painter’s assistants when needed.
- Requires intermediate level experience in discipline
- Conducts routine tasks as directed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.53 - $35.10 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
