About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated IT Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across various departments. This role will involve supporting, managing, and enhancing our IT infrastructure and services, with a focus on Microsoft administration (including Entra), networking, cybersecurity awareness, and multi-OS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Microsoft Administration:
- Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange, Defender, Purview).
- Oversee device management using Microsoft Intune (enrollment, policies, and compliance).
- Utilize Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management, directory services, and authentication.
- Perform OS deployment (Windows 10/11) using tools like Windows Autopilot, WDS, or MDT.
- Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and core server roles (DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Maintain file servers (local or cloud-based), ensuring proper permissions, backups, and availability.
- Networking:
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Manage VLANs, VPN connections, and wireless access points.
- Ensure network security and optimal performance, implementing best practices and monitoring tools.
- Cybersecurity Awareness:
- Implement and maintain security solutions (Microsoft Defender, security patches).
- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and ensure best practices for data protection.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive security initiatives and compliance efforts.
- Multi-OS and Systems Support:
- Provide support for iPad OS, iOS, Ubuntu Linux, and other operating systems as needed.
- Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and perform system upgrades.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand IT requirements and deliver solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide timely updates and training to end-users to enhance system adoption and efficiency.
- Optional / Beneficial Experience:
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange): Integrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting EDI transactions.
- Toyota Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement practices to optimize IT workflows and processes.
- Virtualization & Cloud Services: Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Azure is a plus.
- Scripting & Automation: Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate routine tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record in Microsoft Administration (Intune, Entra/Azure AD, OS Deployment, Server Management).
- Hands-on experience with network configuration and troubleshooting (routers, switches, VLANs, firewalls, VPN).
- Solid foundation in cybersecurity best practices and threat mitigation.
- Experience supporting multiple operating systems (Windows, iOS, Ubuntu) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA Security , Cisco CCNA, or similar credentials are advantageous but not required.
