Fire Sprinkler Inspector
Automatic Fire Protection is seeking a RME- I to add to our rapidly growing team. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector’s duties include testing and inspection of fire sprinkler and alarm systems with knowledge of multiple manufacturers' products. We have a need for a self-motivated, customer service-oriented Inspectors with strong written and verbal communication skills. The Inspector will provide accurate and detailed inspections reports with all proper documentation of improvements and complications.
What you’ll do (day to day)
- Inspect, maintain, test fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes. Have working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and components.
- You will need to communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies.
- Proper use and operation of tools required to complete the inspection
- Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled.
- Required to be in an on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service and inspection request.
- Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to customers.
- Train inspector trainees.
Required Education and Experience
- State of Texas RME-I License – Required
- State of Texas BPAT License (preferred)
- State of Texas Fire Extinguisher License (preferred)
- Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components
- Willing to perform testing and maintenance.
- Able to complete documentation as necessary, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug test per company policy.

- 8 hour shift with opportunities of Over Time when schedule permits
- Monday to Friday (weekends as needed)

- Fire Sprinkler and Alarm Inspections: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- RME-I (Required)
- BPAT (Preferred)
- FEL-B (Preferred)
