Mold Maker- Toolroom

Automation Plastics is looking for a Mold Maker!

Mold Maker Tasks and Responsibilities: Performs maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks to build new projects and support efficient part production.

• Ability to analyze and repair all aspects of a simple to moderately complex tool in close collaboration with a Tooling Engineer and/or Toolroom Manager
• Plan and fabricate cavity forming components in close collaboration with a Tooling Engineer and/or Toolroom Manager
• Disassembles and re-assembles tooling to verify dimensions
• Performs preventative maintenance service on tooling to assure their continued performance in the production of customer’s parts
• Operates maintenance and repair equipment (including, but not limited to, overhead cranes and ultrasonic cleaners) needed to transport, disassemble, repair and assemble tooling
• Assists in the estimating, planning, and timely completion of assigned work

Education/Experience:

Technical school (2 year) and/or 5 years of related experience and training

Must have injection molding experience

Mold Maker Skills:

• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Able to effectively use all mold-making equipment
• Ability to write routine reports
• Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts and fundamental of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Able to demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and reasoning skills
• Knowledge of injection molds and processing
• Able to read and interpret part and assembly drawings and sketches
• Able to work with minimal supervision
