About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mold Maker to join our team! In this role, you will perform maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks to support new projects and ensure the efficient production of parts. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative and climate-controlled environment with a focus on precision and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all tasks required of a Mold Maintenance Tech III with proficiency.
- Analyze and repair simple to moderately complex molds in collaboration with the Tooling Engineer or Toolroom Manager.
- Plan and fabricate cavity-forming components for molds alongside engineers and management.
- Operate mold-making equipment effectively, with specialization in at least one area.
- Disassemble and reassemble tooling to verify dimensions and functionality.
- Estimate, plan, and complete assigned projects on time.
- Follow the “8-Stages of Systematic Mold Maintenance” process.
- Accurately document mold maintenance activities and track progress.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in adherence to 5S standards.
- Uphold accountability for assigned SPA (Single Point of Accountability) areas.
- Ensure customer requirements are met and assist with other related duties as needed.
What You Bring:
Education and Experience
- Technical school certification (2-year program) and/or 5 years of related experience.
Skills
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and apply advanced mathematical concepts, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and reasoning skills.
- Knowledge of injection molds, processing, and part/assembly drawings.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb regularly.
- Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Good vision (close, color, peripheral, and depth) correctable to at least 20x40.
- Willingness to work extended hours and holidays as needed.
Work Environment
- Majority of duties are performed in a climate-controlled factory environment.
