We're seeking a dedicated 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team and lead our production staff toward achieving safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of production workers to meet customer requirements.
- Conduct daily shift start-up meetings to set goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Assign and adjust tasks to maximize staffing efficiency and production uptime.
- Oversee training, performance evaluations, and development of production employees.
- Monitor production processes, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain production logs.
- Supervise start-up, shutdown, processing, molding, trimming, and other production activities.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Enforce company policies and address attendance, behavior, and performance concerns.
- Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate production and staffing activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following 5S standards.
- Complete reports on production, processing, safety incidents, and employee performance.
- Work with HR to address attendance and performance issues using Progressive Discipline.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school; or at least 3 years of relevant experience or training.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of injection molds and processing preferred (training available if needed).
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills, including calculating rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs/charts.
- Valid industrial forklift and driver’s license (or ability to obtain).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Requires good vision (close, color, peripheral, and depth perception).
- Ability to work extended hours, holidays, and swing shifts as needed.
