Summary The lender division of the GAP Claims Department is responsible for administering GAP Deficiency Waiver Addendums sold via financial institutions. These products are designed to assist customers in the event their vehicle is declared a total loss, but the insurance settlement is not enough to cover the loan balance owed on the vehicle. The department is also responsible for administering claims for other financial products. The GAP Claims Adjuster reviews loan and insurance documentation details to determine if a loan balance exists that is eligible to be waived for GAP claims and adjudicate other products. The Claims Adjuster also may field calls regarding the programs and claim processes, and entry of documentation received into the claims system. Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review documentation and adjudicate claims
- Communicate with Lenders, Customers, and Insurance companies to obtain documentation and guide through the claim process
- Insurance license/background, compliance, or claims handling experience is preferred but not required

| - Assist with calls as volume requires

Education and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience with insurance, financial documents and/or claims. Skills - Computer literate with experience working with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Familiarity of vehicle loan processes
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong data entry/typing/10-key skills
- Time management and organization skills
- Excellent customer service skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, wear a headset and required to look at a computer for long periods of the day.
