What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Business Partner position at AutoNation, Inc.?
Develop partnerships to deliver value-added service to leaders and Associates that reflect business objectives. Provide support with the evaluation and implementation of programs in alignment with business goals that meet the needs of our Associates and leadership. Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the culture and direction.
Organizational Relationships
The incumbent in this role will interact with all levels in the organization to support associates, peers, and executives, as well as take part in group discussions and presentations. This position will also interact with vendors and consultants, where needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and ongoing evaluation of programs balancing alignment with business goals, needs, positive Associate experiences and culture.
- Consult with leaders, providing various levels of HR guidance, which may include a combination of tactical and strategic level work, as needed.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Director, HR Business Partner to develop solutions related to workplace practices and policies.
- Manage and resolve moderately complex associate relations matters. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Partner with in-house attorneys as needed.
- Provide guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions) with a focus to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Identify Associate needs which may include, but not limited to training needs for business units and individual coaching needs, and partner closely with Organizational Development (OD) team or other HR Leaders to develop recommendations and solutions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills, and experience. 2-3 years demonstrated HRBP experience
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel to analyze data points and evaluate trends or findings to help develop recommendations for processes and/or programs.
- Ability to work independently but remain a cohesive and cooperative member of the team and adjust to competing demands and frequently shifting priorities
- Solid interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with varying levels across the organization.
- Strong and creative problem-solving skills with ability to foster teamwork and collaborative relationships.
- Customer focused, detail oriented and innovative.
- Ability to maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of people, legal risks, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational skills combined with successful time management and prioritization skills.
