The Autonomy Project is a vibrant hub dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through education, advocacy, and supportive resources. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for the queer community, GSRM, creatives, BIPOC, sex workers, and allies.
We are seeking an Operations and Events Coordinator to support our dynamic team. This role involves managing day-to-day operational tasks, assisting with the coordination of events, and ensuring effective communication within the team and with our community members. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about community engagement and social change.
- Facilitate team check-ins and assist in meeting coordination, including scheduling and sending reminders.
- Oversee logistical aspects of events and programs, ensuring they are well-organized and executed.
- Manage the contact@autonomyproject.org email, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Send regular updates via email to members, volunteers, and donors.
- Assist in setting up and coordinating volunteer projects, including training and ensuring adequate volunteer coverage.
- Step into volunteer roles as needed when there are not enough volunteers available.
- Provide support to team leads as a backstop in various projects.
- Help onboard new command team members, ensuring they are integrated into our processes.
- Handle purchase orders and manage billing inquiries and paperwork.
- Provide support to the Executive Director and other command team members.
- Organize and maintain cleaning schedules for our facilities.
- Apply for necessary permits for events and programs.
- Conduct research for potential events or classes to expand our offerings.
- Proven experience in event coordination or operations management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite) and Notion.
- Experience with non-profit organizations and working in community-driven environments.
- Knowledge of or interest in issues related to our target communities (queer, GSRM, creatives, etc.).
- Grant writing and grant research experience.
- Familiarity with CRMs and email marketing tools.
