Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and improvement of various ECUs and subassemblies in our autonomous driving vehicles. This role requires advanced problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of the main computer system and its sub-components, including board mechanical, thermal solutions, and the enclosure using CAD software.
- Conduct and/or oversee structural analysis, thermal simulations, and tolerance analysis to ensure design feasibility in the automotive environment.
- Conduct prototyping, fit check of sub-components, and design validation tests.
- Work with suppliers, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and come up with design resolutions.
- Work with vehicle team to ensure successful vehicle integration of the system, i.e. ECU fit and support, cooling tube and cable routing management, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including system, hardware, and manufacturing engineers to meet design requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proven experience with FEA and CFD analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional communication and teamwork mentality.
