Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Farm Manager at Autumn's Harvest Farm located in Romulus, New York. The Farm Manager will be responsible for tasks related to animal care, farm operations, and harvest management. This position reports and will be mentored by Farm Founder & Owner. Farm Manager is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of various animals on the farm, including chickens, cows, sheep, and pigs. As well as, managing various operations of the farm as a whole. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow routines and protocols, and a commitment to animal welfare. Must be able to routinely complete all of these daily tasks as well as various farm related tasks throughout the seasons.
Qualifications
- Interest in Animal Welfare and Livestock care
- Must be able to adhere to all Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) standards and biosecurity protocols
- Experience working on Farms, with Livestock is preferred, but not required
- Experience with calving, birth, and general health knowledge of animals is preferred but not required
- Vehicle and tractor experience and equipment maintenance is highly preferred but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and motivated work ethic
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with effective time management and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively with others
- Experience in farm operations, management, and maintenance is preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field is preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
- The role involves significant physical labor and requires working in an outdoor environment, working with livestock, and driving various farm vehicles.
- Must be able to lift 50lb.
- Flexibility in work hours is necessary, including early mornings, weekends, and some holidays.
Compensation Benefits
- $28-34/hr or $55 - 75,000/yr depending on qualifications
- Learn from over two decades of regenerative farming experience under direct mentorship from our Farm Owner
