Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren is seeking a Maintenance Aide to become a member of our elite team. The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the routine upkeep of all facility areas inside and outside the building. These responsibilities include but are not limited to troubleshooting HVAC systems, lighting, indoor climate control, emergency cleaning, and upkeep requests. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space, and parking lot
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
- Remove rubbish and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
- Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped
- Troubleshoot issues with an HVAC system, lighting, and indoor climate control as necessary
- Ensure building safety rules are implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work with tools, ladders, and maintenance supplies as directed
- Able to work under minimum supervision while cooperating with departmental heads and other staff members
- Problem-solving skills in maintenance requests
- Good physical strength for heavy lifting and other related tasks
- Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
- Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary
- Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
- Qualities of responsibility and diplomacy
