What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Bookkeeper position at AV Staffing Solutions?
We are looking for an Assistant Bookkeeper for our client in the construction industry, to assist with their day-to-day accounting and clerical requirements.
This is a 100% on-site position in their Lindenhurst, NY office. This individual will be part of the accounting function primarily supporting the A/R function in addition to A/P tasks as necessary. Will be assisting with daily Bookkeeping and monthly closures including the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities include the following:
- Prepare daily deposits & assist with remote deposit capture.
- Enter & apply approved credits to customer accounts.
- Reconcile transactions with statements.
- Maintain accurate financial record of all receivable transactions, verifications, etc.
- Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate should have 1-3 years of related experience working in an office environment.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred but not required.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Must be professional, detail oriented, organized, and reliable.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
- 2-year degree preferred.
Salary: 21.00 - 22.00 per hour with comprehensive benefits
