Human Resources and Payroll Associate:
AV Transportation Services is seeking a highly-organized and detail-oriented HR Associate to join our team. The HR Associate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the admin team, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll processing. While the HR Associate will not be solely responsible for recruitment or payroll, they will act as the main point of contact/main facilitator of the aforementioned responsibilities. As part of this process, the HR Associate will provide informational material to employees, and answer questions regarding employee benefits, employer/employee relations and laws, and address/direct employee concerns to the appropriate manager. In the case of terminations, the HR associate will help conduct exit interviews and provide information regarding changes in coverage.
This is an administrative support role that is perfect for someone looking to expand their professional experience in recruitment or HR Administration; managing employee services, and Human Resource functions acting as the intermediary between employees and the administrative team.
Salary & Benefits:
- The salary for this position will be a starting range of $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Human Resources and Payroll Associate Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Certificate (Required)
- Associates Degree or Higher in Human Resources Related Field (Preferred)
- Experience in a Human Resources Position (1-3 Years, Required)
- Experience With ADP Software (Required)
- Computer Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Web Application Proficiency (Required)
- Experience With Printing, Scanning, and Utilizing Mail Merge Document Creation
- Knowledge of California Labor Laws (Required)
- Familiarity With California EDD Processes, Benefits, Forms, Etc. (Required)
Experience With Payroll Input and Processing (Required)
Human Resources Associate Job Duties:
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Maintains records through tracking and organizing applications, résumés, and applicant logs; including conducting orientations and processing new hire paperwork into individual electronic and physical employee files.
- Verifies candidates' background by contacting references.
- Enrolls new employees by issuing forms and applications; verifying completion.
- Helps employees by explaining benefit programs.
Maintain employee files and ensure all documentation is up to date
Human Resources and Employee Relation Issues:
- Provides information by answering communications; referring escalated communications to the appropriate supervisor/manager.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment and answering employee questions
- Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping human resources information confidential
- Assist with employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and documenting findings

- Verification of Employee Timecard Within the ADP System
- Adjustment of Incomplete Timecards Within the ADP System

- Verification of Meal Penalty Waivers on a bi-weekly basis
