Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to join our team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients in various settings, including homes and nursing facilities.
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on their medical history and current health status.
- Administer medications, manage symptoms, and provide treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about end-of-life care options, including pain management and emotional support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Provide support in areas such as memory care, family planning, and medical-surgical procedures as needed.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote hospice services and educate the public on end-of-life issues.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of practice.
- Experience in hospice or palliative care preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, ICD-10 coding, sterile processing techniques, and patient care protocols.
- Previous experience working with children or in a nursing home setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team member.
