JOB SUMMARY
We are hiring entry level Assemblers/Electronic Wirers. In this role, you will be fabricating and assembling electrical systems and support structures. All training is provided by Avail and no previous experience is required. We have two shifts available - 2nd shift includes 8% shift premium
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures.
- Adjust, repair, or replace component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings and work orders to determine materials requirements and assembly instructions.
- Connect electrical wiring between components according to the wiring print, specification sheet, and Bill of Material.
- Measure and cut wire to accurate length.
- Mark and tag components so that inventory can be tracked.
- Prepare finished product for shipping by packaging and touching up paint, etc.
- Assist in loading product if required.
- Ensure all tools used on the job are in good working condition.
- Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep work area clean and orderly.
- Prevent on-the-job injuries by attending safety meetings, forklift training, wearing safety glasses, shields, steel-toed shoes and harnesses, etc.; cleaning work area; and maintaining awareness of Quality Standards, and safety stations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Equipment Used: Hand tools such as screwdrivers, strippers, crimpers, tape measure, etc.
- Certification required: Ability to obtain and maintain fork truck license if required.
- Skills: Able to learn to read tape measure and electrical point-to-point prints.
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalency (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Language Skills: Able to read and comprehend somewhat complex instructions. Able to write notes or simple correspondence. Able to effectively communicate information to coworkers
- Mathematical Skills: Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division calculations using whole numbers as well as decimals/fractions. Able to calculate and interpret common tape measurements.
- Reasoning Ability: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple-step instructions of moderate complexity.
- Attendance Requirement: Requires regular attendance during scheduled shift and overtime when required.
- Physical Demands: Spends more than 2/3 of time standing, kneeling/crouching/stooping/using hands/reaching. Spends app. 1/3 of time walking and talking/hearing. Spends less than 1/3 of time positioning items weighing up to 250 lbs. (Lifting and moving of heavier items is achieved via overhead cranes and forklifts). Generally, requires clear vision at close distances.
Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing environment with loud noise level. Facility is enclosed and is ventilated and heated. Safety toe shoes, safety eyewear, required. Gloves, face-shield, and other PPE as needed will be provided.
