This role requires a combination of attention to detail, ability to read and interpret BOM’s, working within specified timelines and a thorough understanding of the manufacturing industry. This role is onsite in Millington, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials and components according to production requirements, minimizing delays and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of material orders, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Work with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and quick resolution of any issues.
- Work closely with the production and engineering teams to understand specific material requirements for custom manufacturing projects.
- Collaborate on forecasting material needs based on production schedules and project timelines.
- Work with the quality control team to address any material defects or discrepancies and resolve supplier-related issues promptly.
- 3 years of proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or in a similar role within a custom manufacturing, industrial or construction setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and procurement software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Oracle and other procurement tools.
