Account Manager
Avalon Risk Management (“Avalon”) is a specialty insurance broker with offices throughout the U.S. and Canada. We focus on the unique and exciting world of risk management and insurance products for the international trade and logistics industry. Avalon is a privately held company owned by our founding management team and we have celebrated over 25 years of success. We are looking for a full-time Account Manager. This position is based out of our Los Angeles office located at 21250 Hawthorne Blve., Suite 160-H, Torrance, CA 90503.

This role will expose you to our clients, the importing/exporting industry, and the various international programs we manage. If you want to work in an environment where you are learning something new every day, this is the job for you.
We are looking for a full time highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit. Preference will be given to those with customs bonds experience. You must have at least 3-5 years’ account manager experience, candidates with some college-level coursework, especially in business or math are preferred. This position requires candidates to have an active CA Property & Casualty license.
This position entails:
- Servicing a Commercial P&C Renewal book of business for our existing clients.
- Working within our Agency Management System, EPIC and INDIO to create marketing submissions, proposals, Binders, and Certificate of Insurance to name a few.
- Working with clients to answer policy questions, update account changes, assist with premium collections, fielding phone calls, and more.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will require a strong work ethic, close attention to detail, and flexibility. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and with a team, and excellent computer skills. Experience using the EPIC system is preferred.
The base compensation range is $70,000 - $80,000 per year, dependent on experience. Our incentive structure allows the team to earn a base salary and bonus potential. Avalon sets our team’s goals to align their efforts with corporate goals.
