The Role
The Manager of Financial Reporting will oversee all financial reporting functions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and real estate industry best practices. This role includes responsibility for monthly financial reporting, quarterly and annual earnings release preparation, and management of the external audit process. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial reporting expertise, ideally, and a keen attention to detail in managing external and internal reporting obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
Earnings Release Preparation: Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual earnings releases, including drafting supporting materials, and liaising with Investor Relations and senior management.
External Audit Management: Serve as a point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit process from planning to completion, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit cycle.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including the preparation of Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and other required filings, as well as implementing new regulatory requirements as needed.
Monthly Reporting: Assist in the monthly reporting process for executive management and the company.
Internal Controls: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, supporting SOX compliance efforts and contributing to process improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Accounting, Finance, and Investor Relations to support company objectives, and contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in a public company; Big Four public accounting experience preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and financial reporting standards; proficiency in financial reporting systems and Excel.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Salary : $98,000 - $135,000
