What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Avance Consulting?
We’re expanding our portfolio and are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our crew. This position will assist with maintaining the physical integrity of our rental units scattered across Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out assigned work orders safely, as requested by the Property Manager. Daily tasks include:
Basic electrical and plumbing
Knowledge of A/C and heating systems
Appliance repair or installation
Stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings
Tile, carpet, flooring
Roofing, gutters, fasteners
Interior/exterior lights
Fireplaces
Ceiling fans
Gas fixtures and appliances
Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows
Sliding glass doors, boiler, gas, and electric
Door locks, P.O. boxes, locks
Controlled access systems
Ceiling leaks, paint walls, drywall repair and patching
Other Responsibilities:
Inspect and coordinate make-ready repairs to meet deadlines
Report major repairs and requisition needs to Property Manager
Change locks, rekey, and make keys
Move items like small vanities, toilets, appliances
Assist with removing abandoned items to a dumpster
Perform any additional duties assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in property maintenance or related field
Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle
Ability to use smartphone apps (T-Sheets/QuickBooks, Buildium)
Must pass a criminal background check
Compensation and Benefits:
$25.00 - $30.00/hr (based on experience)
401(k) with 3% match

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
