What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional MDS Coordinator - RN position at Avant-Guarde Healthcare?
Avant-Guarde Healthcare is an integrated long term care health system. We are looking to hire a dynamic Regional MDS Consultant for our Missouri Region. The Regional MDS Consultant will collaborate with the Regional Operations Consultant, Administrators, MDS Coordinators and Directors of Nursing to ensure Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) guidelines are followed with the focus on resident care and accurate financial reimbursement through the MDS Process.
The Regional MDS Consultant Job will have three main components:
1. Ensures accurate and timely completion of C.M.I, R.A.I. and PDPM Process
2. Recruit, Train, and Educate MDS Personnel.
3. Comply with Avant-Guarde's Nursing Policy and Procedures.

- Complete and submit facility visits and audit results
- Ensure Company Policy and Procedures are implemented and followed
- Work with the Regional Operations Consultants and Regional Nurses on “Best Practices”
- Mentor and Coach Directors of Nursing and MDS Coordinators
- Participate with Local/State/Federal Surveyors on Survey Compliance
- Work with the Facility during Annual Survey
- Participate in the Plan of Correction and Implementation of the Plan of Correction
- Process Improvement and Best Practice Education
- Schedule Regional Training Sessions and Webinars
This position oversees the Health System's PDPM, RAI, and MDS Departments. Auditing to confirm that the timely completion of resident assessments, in accordance with Missouri Medicaid, Medicare, OBRA and Insurance Providers. Train and teach the MDS Coordinators on CMI, Missouri Medicaid, Medicare and Insurance Program updates. Provides consulting and education to the facilities on, IDT Meetings, Medicare Meetings, MDS Meetings and Month End Triple Check Process.

An active Missouri Registered Nurse License is required. A Missouri Registered Nurse with an active Missouri Nursing Home Administrator License is preferred. MDS Experience desired.
