Avanta Dental is searching for a skilled Dental Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounts receivable team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Dental Billing/Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in managing patient accounts and ensuring timely payment collection within a dental practice.
The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position requires mastery of a large amount of detail and excellent time management skills. This person will be a full-time, goal oriented “will do” positive attitude with a 5 star approach to customer service, highly accurate and motivated. We are looking for a team member who is up for a challenge and is willing to invest the time it takes to gain a complete understanding.
Preferred
- At least 2-3 years of experience in dental billing, accounts receivable, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance and payments.
- Strong understanding of payments and benefits (EOPs and EOBs), including hidden splits, payment allocation, and resolving discrepancies.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to de-escalate situations.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of insurance claim management and denial management.
- Familiarity with state-specific insurance regulations and common billing codes in dentistry.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required.
