Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst may consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work cooperatively as the financial expert on our cross-functional book production teams to help ensure that book projects meet financial objectives.
- Apply your analytical skills to our financial data and work with departments and leadership to establish book project targets for costs and gross profit margin (GPM) by project and then monitor performance against these targets.
· Dive into our sales and book cost data and then develop in-depth analysis of trends and behaviors. Share and review findings and recommendations with leadership that can positively impact efficiency and profitability.
· Consolidate, analyze, and summarize general financial data when requested, and then develop (and maintain) reports to help support management decisions.
- Work with leadership to establish appropriate metrics and KPI to monitor and drive organizational success.
· Provide timely and accurate ad hoc financial analysis as requested by leadership.
· Assist with the preparation and ongoing monitoring of the annual budget and forecast.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting.
- Assist with annual accounting department responsibilities, including preparing audit workpapers and physical inventory.
- Cross-train and support essential accounting department tasks during the absence of other staff.
- Other accounting or financial duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
- 2–3 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis in a production or operational setting.
- Strong analytical skills to dive into our financial information and help us improve results.
- Solid general accounting skills to support all functions of the accounting team, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash, audit, tax, and special projects.
- Proficiency with an advanced ERP software such as Sage 100.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to complete data analysis and generate useful tools and reports.
· Aptitude and desire to embrace current business technology and ecommerce tools is desired.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position of approximately 25 hours per week between the business hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (EST), Monday through Friday. The exact schedule will be discussed and decided upon during the interview and offer stage.
