Ave's Lock and Key is looking to hire a new shop technician who is interested in learning a rewarding career that has limitless potential for both career and financial growth. The optimal candidate will be mechanically inclined and enjoys solving puzzles. They would be expected to undergo a 3 month paid apprenticeship, in which they would participate in training and complete a probationary period wherein they are shown the ropes and are given the tools to help them build a foothold in their new career.
As an new shop technician, you will be working in the shop, learning hands-on key duplicating and originating, as well as how to service common locking mechanisms for homes, businesses, and automobiles. A successful locksmith is driven and is able to problem solve on their own in order to provide adequate solutions for customers in the field as well as in the shop.
This position is primarily going to be shop oriented, and will not be inherently field based, but there is always the opportunity for a shop technician to go run calls and be out in the field if they wish, but this is not expected unlike an apprentice locksmith. Additionally, a successful candidate will be expected to also provide assistance with selling firearms and completing the necessary paperwork that comes along with that. Firearms knowledge and a passion for firearms is a plus, but is not required.
