Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient service, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires a strong understanding of medical office management and the ability to work effectively in a both a self-paced and fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Manage patient appointments and scheduling, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of care plans for patients.
- Utilize EMR software for patient management, and record-keeping.
- Create Specialty referrals and Assist with Medication and DME Prior Authorizations
- Perform medical billing and coding tasks accurately to ensure proper processing of claims.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Support the medical staff with administrative tasks as needed, including filing, data entry, and 10 key typing.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical office procedures and management practices.
- Familiarity with care plans, medical billing, and coding processes.
- Experience using electronic health record systems and Practice Management Software.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to efficiently manage computerized records.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide outstanding patient service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with Referrals, Prior Authorizations and Provider to Provider Medical Records Requests.
