• Receives and responds to call inquiries for potential admissions and generalized questions.
• Obtains the required information to facilitate admissions.
• Makes referrals for persons who are not appropriate for admission.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ADMISSION PROCESS

• Ensure that requests for evaluation are responded to in a timely manner with a thorough evaluation and appropriate disposition.
• Facilitate direct admissions by coordinating with the Physician, referring facility, ABHC staff and insurance authorizations.
• Review new and pending admissions daily in order to ensure that clinical, financial, insurance and administrative information has been accurately obtained and acted upon.
• Ensure that prior authorizations are obtained for admissions.
• Organize information of patient's current needs and provide a succinct clinical presentation to admitting physician.

CUSTOMER INTERACTION

• Interact with patients, family members, external entities, and internal staff professionally and respectfully.
• Work collaboratively with all treatment team members to create a treatment environment that supports the facility’s mission to provide exemplary patient care and customer service.
• Act to preserve patient and family dignity and safety.
• Provides assessment of patient's current needs sufficient to formulate recommendation to physician of patient's level of care needs.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the community's continuum of behavioral health resources.

DOCUMENTATION

• Documentation for medical records and reports is timely, legible, thorough, and in required format.
• Document as required including inquiry calls, assessments, managed care data, etc.
