POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for, but not limited to :
- Assist the DON Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department and with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
- Maintain quality nursing standards of care, including consultation to medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing services.
- Provide input into interpretation of nursing philosophy and assists in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing nurse staff education and training. May exercise direction over the nursing department.
- Ensure Integrity of educational nursing programs offered within the facility.
- Staff Development - Identify current nursing employees to be mentored into both personal and career advancement towards leadership position within the corporation
