Overview:
The IT Coordinator is crucial in managing IT projects, optimizing resource usage, and maintaining the functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems. This role blends technical skills with administrative expertise, supporting both independent and collaborative projects within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee IT projects, ensuring project scope, timelines, and deliverables are clearly defined and achieved in collaboration with various departments.
- Configure, set up, and maintain server hardware and network infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and regularly update software and hardware.
- Lead IT support efforts by providing technical support, training, and troubleshooting for systems and networks.
- Manage network security measures, including antivirus solutions and firewalls, to ensure data integrity and security.
- Administer and troubleshoot phone systems and manage configurations.
- Develop and maintain network policies and procedures to uphold system security and efficiency.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all IT-related incidents, delivering rapid response and effective solutions to maintain user satisfaction.
- Automate and streamline IT workflows to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Assist with and act as a liaison for vendor communications, ensuring that vendor relationships support organizational IT objectives.
- Assist with the management of security incidents, helping to mitigate risks and coordinate responses as per organizational protocols.
- Support HIPAA compliance efforts, ensuring that IT practices align with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Research and recommend new approaches for system performance improvements, including necessary upgrades and resource enhancements.
- Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors, technical support teams, and consultants to ensure technological solutions meet company objectives.
Education, Licensure/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience in a similar role may be considered.
- Preferred certifications include CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , or other relevant IT certifications.
Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in network management, help desk support, and IT project coordination.
- Proficient with IT systems and applications, particularly Office 365, network routing, and switching.
- Experience managing server infrastructure, VPN setups, and troubleshooting practices.
- Knowledgeable in backup and recovery methodologies, especially in a regulated environment like healthcare.
Continuing Education and Training Requirements:
- Participates in trainings required by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
