Avenue5 is growing, and we are in search of a copywriter/content strategist to join our dynamic team of Fivers!

Summary of Responsibilities:

The copywriter writes and edits copies for various projects (including brand development, collateral, websites, videos, and social media) and works closely with designers and regional experts to develop concepts and messaging. In addition to the brand, collateral, and digital content creation, the position assists with various marketing and new business efforts (e.g., perform market and demographic research and assist with presentation materials, work in the creative services inbox and different project management platforms, review creative items for content accuracy, and coordinate items for review and approval).

 

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives:

·         Partner with regional marketing managers to develop and implement strategic initiatives that generate optimum traffic and leasing performance for assigned properties

·         Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative content

·         Analyze brand guidelines and creative brief information and take actionable steps to execute the content

·         Research and understand the property’s needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, and meetings with subject matter experts

·         Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate and property marketing communications materials

·         Collaborate with a team of creatives and regional experts from concept development to delivery

·         Complete research based upon detailed studies of target audience demographic, psychographic, and geographic characteristics

·         Assist in name brainstorms, marketing campaigns, and other creative marketing efforts as needed

·         Create content for name presentations, logo concept presentations, brand concept presentations, brand style guides, collateral, and digital from conception through completion

·         Present work for approval, capture feedback and revise to deliver an approved solution on time and within budget

·         Provide strategic direction and conduct critiques on work to bring it to completion

·         Finalize all creative projects by ensuring all content goes through the proper quality assurance review, and that project specifications align with business goals

·         Create PowerPoint presentation decks as well as decks generated from existing master slide templates

·         Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction

·         Support the communication and coordination of creative materials to internal associates

·         Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team, and client representatives as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion

·         Coordinate with the internal team to ensure that creative products and services meet Avenue5 standards for quality, effectiveness, and timeliness

·         Support new business efforts and marketing creative requests and manage multiple projects on a day-to-day basis

·         Ensure the quality assurance and consistency of Avenue5's professional, branded image in all client communications, proposals, and collateral

·         Uses SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline is required

·         Three to five years of experience working in an agency setting is preferred

·         Experience in multifamily, real estate, or architecture is preferred

·         Social media or content marketing experience is preferred

·         Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience to drive action and retain retention

·         Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand

·         Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and industry trends

·         Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging

·         Ability to process feedback in a flexible and meaningful manner

·         Ability to own and manage numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while retaining accuracy and attention to detail

·         Strong organizational and time management skills to facilitate the timely completion of projects with differing deadlines

·         Exceptional file organization and archiving skills

·         Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop, and/or Illustrator) is preferred

·         Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and research skills

·         Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines

·         Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

·         Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides is preferred

·         Experience working with content management systems is preferred

·         A keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design

·         Passionate about storytelling that matches the overall strategy

·         Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to pivot quickly when the need arises

·         Outstanding conceptual and creative thinking skills

·         Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others

·         Positive demeanor, voracious appetite to learn new things, and exceptional professional judgment

·         Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assigned

Scheduling:

·         Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
