Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing direct, personal care and services to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be accountable for meeting the physical, academic, social, and spiritual needs of residents on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Perform routine duties and non-routine tasks as directed by nursing staff, including but not limited to assisting patients with transfers, repositioning, toileting needs, serving and collecting food trays, and orienting/reorienting residents to the facility environment.
- Take vital signs and document information on appropriate forms.
- Assist residents in performing specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure, including restorative exercises and collecting specimens.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning procedures and restocking supplies.
- Provide emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
- Comply with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy, and report any allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
Essential Qualifications:
- The ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties.
- The ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) licensure within 120 days of hire.
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- High School or GED Equivalent.
- Less than 1 year of related experience or training.
