Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Professional to join our multidisciplinary team at Avera Health's Chamberlain Clinic. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely clinical laboratory results for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing utilizing established protocol with a high degree of accuracy in all departments of the laboratory.
- Calibrate, perform quality control checks, and preventative maintenance steps on assigned instrumentation.
- Review, research, interpret, and report data, assuming responsibility for distinguishing between normal and abnormal clinical parameters.
- Collect, receive, and transport blood and other specimens from clinic patients following accepted standards of practice.
- Implement and monitor laboratory inventory and control program, responsible for resource utilization (supplies and equipment) in department.
- Responsible for training new employees or co-workers on new equipment/procedures as applicable.
- Assist in student clinical rotation programs.
- Research, suggest, evaluate, and implement new tests and updates current tests.
- Attend educational training for new skills, technology, or knowledge applicable to the laboratory and throughout the clinic to maintain quality testing and infrastructure flow.
- Actively participate in quality assurance program, recommending corrective action for problems identified.
- Reviews policies and reads procedures as scheduled, assists in the preparation for inspection and participation during inspection.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical Laboratory Science degree or Bachelor's Transcript showing Medical Technology degree.
- MLS - American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 1 Year or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 Year or Medical Technologist (MT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) within 1 Year.
