A Patient Care Technician at Avera Health plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care is maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing routine patient support services, working closely with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, entering diet information into the computer system, passing meal trays, feeding and attending to other care needs.
- Greets all persons coming to the area assigned, answers inquiries, directs and assists them as needed, takes and relays messages, assists with gifts, flowers, and mail for patients, runs errands for department staff.
- Ambulates patients and assists them in and out of wheelchairs, measures intakes and outputs, collects specimens and transports patients as needed.
- Answers telephone, operates paging system, attends station and directs traffic during emergencies.
