A Brief Overview
Responds and assists the Physician and the Registered Nurse by providing assistance to professional staff during the pre-procedure, procedure or post-procedure period. This position will assist with procedure room set-up, scope cleaning and scope maintenance, as well as entering and maintaining inventory control.
What you will do
- Transports and transfers patients.
- Prepares the room for procedure in a timely fashion.
- Maintains efficiency in handling equipment at physician’s request during procedures.
- Verifies specimens with Physician and Registered Nurse.
- Achieves and maintains a working knowledge of equipment and tools.
- Assists in positioning patient or equipment for procedure as well as hooking the patient up to the patient monitor.
- Assists with secretarial/clerical duties as needed.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintanence and repair requests and prepare related forms.
- Cleans and maintains equipment.
- Keeps stock and equipment inventories.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Technical Certificate six months to one year medical experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- SGNA GI Associate's Program - Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) within 1-1/2 Yrs
