Job Summary
- Pharmacy Technician-in-Training assists in drug preparation, storage, distribution, and inventory management within a variety of pharmacy environments.
- This entry-level position participates in and completes Avera Health’s Pharmacy Technician Education Program in order to prepare for national certification exams to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
- Upon completion of the education program and successful Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination, the technician-in-training will be promoted into the role of Pharmacy Technician.
- Avera Health’s Pharmacy Technician Education Program consists of 400 hours of combined didactic, simulation, and experiential learning activities.
- Avera Health requires a two-year employment commitment upon completion of the Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates degree preferred.
- 0-6 months of experience is preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registrations
- Ability to become registered with SD Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Work Schedule
- Day/Evening Shift; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Occasional weekend (Currently every 4th)
- Occasional holiday (Varies)
- No call time
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $18.00 - $24.50 per hour
