Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to perform daily billing operations for designated areas of billing and insurance coding.
As a Billing Specialist, you will work closely with providers and other staff to resolve coding and reimbursement issues, address patient concerns, and assist in denial management and appeals.
The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, IHS, and third-party billing.
A technical certification from NAHAM or AAHAM is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily billing operations for designated areas of billing and insurance coding
- Work with providers and other staff to resolve coding and reimbursement issues
- Address patient concerns and assist in denial management and appeals
- Assist with policy development and implementation related to billing and insurance coding
- Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and policies affecting billing and insurance coding
Requirements:
- General knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, IHS, and third-party billing
- Technical certification from NAHAM or AAHAM (preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
