A Brief Overview

Accountable for performing a variety of general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the hospital.

What you will do

• Proposes and maintains groundskeeping plan for the hospital and landscaping.
• Approves all plants and trees for construction and expansion projects.
• Maintains the hospital’s exterior grounds and rental property.
• Is responsible for exterior and interior hospital owned plant life.
• Polices campus for garbage.
• Is responsible for correct and timely application of chemicals as needed for the maintenance of the hospital campus.
• Performs raking, sweeping, mowing, pruning, and transplanting as necessary.
• Makes repairs to small engines and other lawn equipment.
• Is responsible for the maintenance and occasional installation of lawn sprinkler system.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Some High School
• Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Pesticide Applicators License - South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Upon Hire
