Job Summary
- The PSR greets patients, obtains and verifies patient information/identification and updates patient records accordingly.
- The PSR makes future patient appointments, run necessary schedules.
- The PSR makes appointments over the telephone, calls patients to remind them of their appointment(s), updates the schedule, and makes all schedule changes.
- The PSR answers all incoming phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
- The PSR collects co-payments and other professional fees at the time of service and answers patients billing questions.
- The PSR updates patient records and obtains demographic and financial information from new patients to create their accounts and charts.
- The PSR files medical record materials, pull records, and delivers them to various departments within the clinic.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prefer one year customer service experience in a medical office setting.
- Prefer computer experience.
Work Schedule
- Day shifts; 72 hours 2 weeks
- Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $17.50 - $22.00 per hour
