A Brief Overview
Becoming a resident assistant, in an assisted living facility, is a rewarding career as it allows you to directly make a positive impact on the lives of elderly residents by providing them with personalized care, building meaningful relationships, and contributing to their overall well-being, offering a sense of fulfillment through helping others in a supportive community setting .
What you will do:
A ssist residents with daily activities, providing physical and emotional support, which can significantly improve their quality of life.
Develop close relationships with residents and their families, getting to know their individual needs and preferences.
Provide companionship and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Monitor the health and safety of residents, identifying potential hazards and ensuring quick access to help when needed.
Maintain cleanliness in residents’ living spaces.
Notify nurses or supervisors about changes in residents' conditions.
Maintain accurate records of residents' information.
Understanding and following established policy and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control procedures, hazardous and chemical communication program.
Mentor new employees and assists with their orientation.
Lead, by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.
Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
Must be 16 years or older
