Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking an Integration and Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of aircraft electrical power equipment. This role involves the preparation, execution, and documentation of environmental and electromagnetic interference (EMI) tests using DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for test procedure development, troubleshooting, and technical analysis while collaborating with engineers, technicians, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Preparing and reviewing environmental and EMI test procedures for new aircraft electrical power equipment designs based on DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 guidelines.
- Performing laboratory tests and documenting results for internal and external review.
- Developing custom test equipment designs and drawings to enable successful testing of aircraft electrical power equipment.
- Analyzing and solving technical problems related to EMI testing using test data and specification requirements.
- Supporting environmental and EMI development testing, troubleshooting, and formal testing using custom and standard lab test equipment.
- Assisting with AES in-house EMI lab operations and defining required test equipment for problem identification and isolation.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports and test results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Guiding technicians and operators in system integration, unit-level development testing, and custom test equipment builds.
- Utilizing JIRA to request software, hardware, telephone services, email, and business system support.
- Support environmental and EMI testing of aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution equipment.
- Develop and review test procedures and reports for aerospace electrical power equipment.
- Conduct and support DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 testing.
- Develop and review development and qualification test procedures for environmental and EMI tests.
- Generate test fixture designs to support environmental and EMI testing for aircraft equipment.
Essential Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
- Experience with environmental and EMI testing of aerospace electrical power equipment.
- Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 standards.
- Experience in test equipment design and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for EMI test-related issues.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to guide technicians and collaborate across disciplines.
Bonus Qualifications
- Prior experience working with aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, or distribution equipment.
- Hands-on experience with custom test fixture development.
- Experience working in aerospace or defense industries.
- Knowledge of JIRA for business system support.
